An increasing trend towards homogenisation is consistent with other studies into the changing composition of grasslands (e.g., Köhler et al. 2005 ; Bennie et al. 2006 ; Halada et al. 2008 ; Bauer et al. 2009 ; Mitchell et al. 2017 ; Diekmann et al. 2019 ; Ridding et al. 2020 ; Pakeman and Fielding 2021 ; Vidaller et al. 2022 ).
