In the experiments of the present study, CXCL12 mRNA expression showed some heterogeneity in the investigated GBO preparations but exhibited, over time, a highly significant positive correlation from day 7 onwards when comparing the expression between the primary tumor tissues and GBOs cultured for the respective time points ( Figs. 5A and C , and S3A ).
