We reviewed literature published by our research group and other published article, which reported highly significant ( p < 0.05) effects in follicle counting and ovarian section staining. 27 , 28 Analysis of these data indicated that, with α = 0.05 and β = 0.8, the sample size required to detect similar effect sizes was estimated to be around 3 animals per group.
