Highly significant age-dependent differences in the distribution of the following variables were found: female gender, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), non-cardiac atherosclerosis, neurological dysfunction, instable angina, left ventricular ejection fraction 30–50%, non-isolated coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), thoracic aortic surgery, arterial hypertension, diabetes and atrial fibrillation.
