Warrillow et al [ 25 ] reported that despite variation in effluent dose from 2000 mL/hour (24%), 3000 mL/hour (35%), 4000 mL/hour (33%), and 5000 mL/hour (9%) for a median dose 43 mL/kg/hour, there was a trend towards significance relationship between dose and decreasing ammonia levels (Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient r s = 0.249; P = 0.07), however this was significantly related to duration of therapy over days one and two ( r s = 0.159; P = 0.26, rather than the intensity[ 24 , 25 ].
