In Finland, for example, a positive trend in the use of antidepressants predates the pandemic [ 39 ]; however, delayed access to services, as well as changes in help-seeking behaviour, have been suggested as explanations for the observed pattern of new diagnoses in children and adolescents during the pandemic [ 28 ].
