Moreover, when compared to the OVX soleus, 4‐HNE levels tended to be 17% lower in the OVX‐Li soleus, and although this did not quite reach statistical significance, these data suggest that Li supplementation can partly limit the oxidative stress, as indicated by 4‐HNE content, which could also contribute to the improvements in soleus muscle‐specific force production.
