Consistent with the descriptive patterns above, for the medications meeting our definition of a shortage to VHA, there was an increasing trend (i.e., a positive, statistically significant slope estimate) in dosage units ordered and a corresponding decreasing trend (i.e., negative, statistically significant slope estimate) in dosage units filled/dosage units ordered prior to the index date, with no significant level change at the index date, suggesting that the effect of the supply chain disruption started before the supply chain disruption reporting date versus at the time of the report.
