In addition, our linear regression analyses showed that, while there was a positive trend between the number of critical care beds per 100,000 people and economic indicators such as the GDP, total healthcare expenditure, health expenditure per capita, Health Development Index, Human Development Index, and hospital beds per 100,000 people, none of these relationships were statistically significant ( Figure 1 ).
