Consistent with our hypothesis, we found marginal evidence that minimum temperature, maximum temperature, and temperature variability have stronger effects on the mass of the smallest nestling than other brood mates ( Fig 5 ), as indicated by a marginally significant statistical interactions of temperature with relative nestling size.
