When correcting for the number of days that spore traps were deployed, mean daily DNA abundances were also highest at the Northeast region site (10,200 copies/filter/day) and lowest at the Southern Rockies region site (98 copies/filter/day), with a highly significant overall difference in mean abundances across ecoregions based on a Kruskal–Wallis test ( Χ 2 (7) = 40.78, p < 0.001) (Figure 2 ).
