As seen in one of the most well-known example, TROG 02–02, RT quality may affect clinical trial outcomes to the point where the experimental treatment arm may be assessed as not superior to the standard arm due to RT quality playing the role of a confounding factor where patients with acceptable treatment had a borderline significant improved outcome in the experimental arm [5] .
