The precision of ruby fluorescence pressure measurements is 0.05 GPa and, while the distinctions between our and Katrusiak’s values are barely statistically significant, there may also be a temperature effect: an ambient temperature of 296 K quoted above would be an unprecedented luxury in our lab in Edinburgh.
