In women, cheese consumption in the highest quintile (Q5 median: 94 g/d) was associated with a borderline significant lower odds in MetS compared with the lowest (OR: 0.73, 95% CI: 0.54, 1.00, P -trend = 0.046, quadratic term P value <0.001, model 2) quintile (Q1 median: 10.8 g/d).
