The carbon stable isotopes in Pacific cod otoliths showed a decreasing trend from north to south across the three regions, which may be linked to a negative correlation with temperature (Kalish 1991 ; Martino et al. 2020 ), as well as geographic differences in carbon stable isotope composition (Becker et al. 2016 ; Tagliabue and Bopp 2008 ).
