More recently, we can also observe an increasing trend in access to secondary and tertiary levels of education in the Swiss population, evolving from 24.6% to 11.4% of the global population respectively in 1990, to 39.7% and 46.5% respectively in 2024 [ 20 ], suggesting that younger individuals nowadays aim more frequently for higher education.
