Out of the five environmental parameters identified by BIO‐ENV as best explaining the variation between generations, the wind speed and surface water temperature in spring of the year of birth and summer surface water temperature averaged over the lifespan significantly affected the ordination while the effects of air temperature in summer and air temperature in spring of the year of birth were marginally significant (0.05 < p < 0.1, Table S7 ).
