A random-effects meta-analysis revealed that vitamin D supplementation as an adjunct to conventional treatment showed a marginally statistically significant improvement in FEV1% compared with the control group (SMD = 0.25, 95% CI [0.00, 0.49], P = 0.05), suggesting a mild positive trend in lung function associated with vitamin D supplementation.
