This is extremely significant, since in typical disordered realistic auxetic systems such as foams, variation of stiffness without a change in Poisson's ratio is not achievable, that is, in auxetic foams, an increase in density is typically accompanied by an increase in Young's modulus and a reduction in auxeticity [ 49 , 50 ].
