These findings echo previous studies which emphasized that time to surgery and bowel viability are the most powerful determinants of outcome.[ 7 8 ] Notably, age >60 years showed a trend toward significance, aligning with prior work indicating reduced physiological reserve as a risk factor.[ 9 ] This reinforces the necessity of early referral, rapid diagnostic workup, and aggressive resuscitation in suspected high-risk cases.
