This endpoint treatment effect was then sustained over time: in follow up intention‐to‐treat (ITT) analysis 6 years after initial treatment end, with 80% of the original cohort assessed at a mean age 10.5 years, the between‐group treatment effect on ADOS scores was preserved (OR −8.2; −1.53, −0.12, p = 0.02), giving a highly significant cumulative effect of therapy (marginal log‐odds effect size of 0.55 [95% CI 0.14–0.91]; p = 0.009; shown as an ‘area between curves’ AUC, Figure 3 ).
