From typical phonation to soft phonation, most participants adjusted along both the PC2 (reduced vocal fold adduction) and PC1 (increased cricothyroid muscle activation), with changes in PC1 and PC2 both significantly differently from zero (except for female participants in which changes in PC1 were marginally statistically significant).
