Burden of treatment was not reported in any study; however, the panel considered it likely to be significant, particularly given the use of injectable drugs and the potential for a prolonged period of anticoagulant prophylaxis to be required due to ongoing thrombotic risk factors such as CVAD, surgery, chemotherapy, and residual malignant disease.
