Nevertheless, this reflected a gradual reduction trend from 91% in 2017 to 77% in 2020 which suggests a positive trend in service utilization, potentially reflecting increased mental health awareness as a result of expansion of government and nongovernmental service programs, and inclusion of mental health into primary healthcare system in certain districts (Luitel et al. 2017 ; Khanal et al. 2023 ).
