In HSV-1–infected HCECs at 0, 6, 12, and 24 hpi, western blot analysis showed an increasing trend in the protein levels of PANoptosis-related molecules (GSDMD, MLKL, CASP3, RIPK3, CASP1, PARP) and their active forms, although p-MLKL and c-CASP3 showed a transient, non-significant decrease at 12 hpi ( Figs. 4 A, 4 B).
