Saccharomyces cerevisiae has been recently established as a causative agent of VVC, and has shown an increasing trend. 15 Our data indicated that S. cerevisiae was the species affected least by acidic pH among all the yeast species tested, and was susceptible to most of the antifungal agents, with a stable MIC values at both pH levels, except for terconazole, polyene amphotericin B, and nystatin, which showed remarkable increases in MIC 90 , resulting in the rate of NWT being up to 50% for amphotericin B; the rate of decreased susceptibility was 22.2% for nystatin and 94.4% for terconazole at pH 4.5 ( Table 3 ).
