Remarkably, the f 3-statistics analysis revealed a highly significant signature of south-to-north gene flow ( f 3 < 0, Z score <–2; Fig. 3c and Supplementary Data 11 ), suggesting unidirectional dispersal from southern to northern populations, which is a pattern consistent with the direction of summer coastal currents.
