Although no study has investigated the impact of changes in CEA levels during pretransplant chemotherapy on survival, the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association consensus guidelines recommend that high CEA levels (> 80 μg/L) with an increasing trend during chemotherapy should be considered as a strong relative contraindication for LT [ 29 ].
