The limitations of the decoupling strategy employed in this study include: reliance on the simultaneous presence of two closely spaced modes; for structures dominated by a single mode or with a large separation in modal frequencies, the aliasing effect may not be significant; estimation of beat frequency periods requires a long period of steady-state response, which may be unstable during the initial or decay phases of non-steady typhoons.
