Brudno et al found Mlagan alignments of human and fugu exons were improved by 3% with the addition of mouse as an in-group [ 65 ], which is consistent with the trend we observed with Mlagan alignments improving with in-group addition, but this trend was not found to be highly significant at any divergence.
