It is therefore highly significant that three other structurally unrelated antidepressants – the second generation monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) clorgyline, the tricyclic antidepressant imipramine, and the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) fluoxetine, have been attributed chronobiotic properties in studies of their chronic administration in rodents [ 6 , 68 ].
