Tables I and II show these data with regard to amplification of the FGF-3 oncogene. Preoperative CA 125 levels were above the established cut-off of 35 IU ml-' in 112/136 (82.6%) patients and a borderline significance (P = 0.06) for patients with amplified FGF-3 gene as compared to patients with single copy gene was noted (Table II).
