The outcome was compared with that in appropriate untreated controls, group 17. As in the case of similar treatments applied to an initial tumour transplant of one million cells, Melphalan and isogenic cells prolonged host survival, although the results just failed to reach statistical significance at the 5 per cent level (group 15 versus group 17), t 2 1, n 19, P < 0 1 > 0 05.
