All cell lines with p53 mutations showed a highly significant elev ation of mp53 protein (p=0.003) compared to cell lines with wild-type p53. 7 lines had typical p53 mutations in the DNA binding regions one of which was a frame shift resulting in a truncated p53 protein whilst the other 6 were point mutations producing amino-acid substitutions.
