Usually there is a cholangitis,4 and a more or less copious secre- tion from the ducts mingles with the bile; while if the gall bladder remain normal it cannot but exert a marked influence on the fluid coursing through it.' Of the less used methods of bile collection, that devised by Pawlow6 has given highly significant results.
