He also reported that reduction of irradiated oil with cysteine hydrochloride inactivated the bactericidal process. When the observations reported in this article are considered in con- nection with the findings of others, which have just been outlined, it seems possible that the special biological reactions of Streptococcus hernolyticus pertaining to its respiratory mechanism and interrelated activities may be significant in the present study.
