It is entirely possible, however, that the metab- olism of cellular proteins of the kidney itself makes some contribution to the amino acid and peptide content of renal vein blood. The renal arterio-venous amino acid and polypeptide differences tabulated in Table II, though highly significant statistically, are small in magnitude.
