The corresponding ORs were 3.2 (95% Cl 2.5-4.1) for colon, 2.2 (95% Cl 1.6-3.1) for rectal cancer and 2.8 (95% Cl 2.3-3.6) for the two sites together. There was a borderline significant association of colon cancer with family history of stomach (OR 1.4), bone (OR 2.1) and kidney (OR 2.3) cancers, while rectal cancer was significantly associated with a family history of lymphomas (OR 2.8), and for several other sites the OR was above unity.
