An analysis of the clustering data revealed a main effect of category size ( F (4, 32) = 8.54, p < .001) and a marginally significant orienting task by category size interaction ( F (4, 32) = 2.58, p = .056), which follows Hunt and Seta's observation of larger differences in clustering between the item-specific and relational encoding conditions for the smaller as compared to the larger categories.
