Recently, Yao and colleagues [ 9 ], utilizing CGH in conjunction with serial analysis of gene expression (SAGE), have demonstrated an overall trend towards an increase in the number and amplitude of gains and losses during breast cancer progression, supporting the concept that the early neoplastic stage of DCIS is a direct precursor to IDC.
