Similar associations between tissue VEGF-C expression and clinicopathological factors have been described by Akagi et al (2000) with consistent patterns of VEGF-C expression in involved lymph nodes and primary tumours, although in this study only a nonsignificant trend towards decreased survival was identified in VEGF-C positive groups.
