Further investigation of this SNP in black ARIC participants revealed no significant association of rs6495446 and either trait at visit 4 (p = 0.68 for CKD and p = 0.26 for eGFR) or visit 1 (p = 0.44 for CKD and p = 0.03 for eGFR), although the association of rs6495446 and eGFR at visit 1 in ARIC blacks was of borderline significance (-1.2 ml/min/1.73 m 2 per increase in T allele, p = 0.03).
