A second finding is that village inhabitants who spend a significant amount of time outside the village seem to have a lower risk for HAT infection (regular work outside village, having family members in neighbouring villages, visiting cattle market (borderline significance)) whereas activities involving presence in the village during the entire day (working in household as main occupation) appear to carry a higher risk of HAT.
