This is extremely significant, as expression of FcεRI is directly influenced by IgE levels, with the use of omalizumab down-regulating this receptor on the surface of basophils, dendritic cells (types 1 and 2), and skin mast cells (at a slower rate) [ 21 , 36 - 38 ].
