In adolescents, increased serum PFNA concentrations were associated with decreased blood insulin (β coefficient −0.10 ± 0.05, P < 0.05) and β-cell function (−0.12 ± 0.06, P < 0.05) with borderline significance ( P = 0.05–0.09 in all models and <0.05 in the final model).
