Six studies have demonstrated significant improvement in RSV-related hospitalization rates with palivizumab prophylaxis ( Pedraz et al 2003 ; Singleton et al 2003 ; Grimaldi et al 2004 , 2007 ; Kusuda et al 2006 ; Mitchell et al 2006 ) while 2 additional studies have demonstrated a trend toward significance ( Shireman 2002 ; Resch 2006 ).
