Importantly, these most frequent components of cancer classifiers had very high potency to differentiate control and cancer samples by themselves; the statistical significance of differences obtained in univariant analyses for these three peaks were at the level of p-values from 10 -20 to 10 -14 (they remained highly significant after application of the Bonferroni correction for multiple testing; Table 1 ).
