Our HVA data, though not quite significant, are consistent with Newton and colleagues' [ 9 ] hypothesis that selegiline might decrease the rewarding effects of cocaine by reducing the increase in dopamine release following cocaine administration, although we did not see a rise in basal dopamine availability as they suggest.
