Highly significant reductions in MRC2 mRNA levels were observed in carriers relative to homozygous wild-type individuals (75%±4% and 45%±6% of control values for the 5′ and 3′ systems respectively), while MRC2 mRNA levels in cases were less than 5% of homozygous wild-types ( Figure 3B ).
