Among the 454 contigs, there was a slight trend for increased coverage depth to result in higher coverage of the coding regions ( r 2 = 0.02, β = 0.015, P < 0.0001), although a substantial number of deeply covered contigs fail to cover complete coding regions of their A. thaliana ortholog (Fig. 6A ).
